At Shaws we pride ourselves on using only the finest of local produce. We source our stock through tried and trusted local farms from around the Borders.
The livestock is then slaughtered under our direction at Scottish Borders Abattoir in Galashiels, ensuring the lowest possible food miles and highest standards of animal welfare.
We have extensive chilling facilities which allows us to mature our carcases: our beef is matured for a minimum of 21 days, whilst our lamb is matured for at least 7 days.
Our produce is then butchered to the highest standards by our master butchers, who also create added value products which inspires our customers to produce innovative meals.
By working closely with both our producers and customers, we are continually on the look out to expand the range of products which we are able to offer.
